Guangzhou One-Day Tour

Morning: Huangpu Ancient Harbor:

Take the MTR to Wanshengwei Station, then transfer to bus 137, 262, 564, or 762 to the Huangpu Village Archway. Continue along the road, where you'll find numerous village ancestral halls. Near the Huangpu Creek, you'll find the First Checkpoint of the Guangdong Sea Memorial Hall (note: closed on Mondays). A 2-3 hour visit is recommended. For lunch, the village offers numerous authentic restaurants, including a restaurant and souvenir shops, all at a lower price than in Guangzhou's traditional shopping district. Bus 229 connects Shiji Village to the MTR station and the city center.

Afternoon: Dashatou Guangzhou-Kowloon Railway Memorial Park
Located on Dashatou Main Road, the former Guangzhou Railway Station (1911-1974), the park features exhibits including a steam locomotive and two hard-seat carriages, making it a nostalgic photo spot. Snacks and drinks are available inside the carriages. If taking the MTR, take Exit B2 of Donghu Station on Lines 6/10. Turn north onto Donghu West Road and reach Dashatou Second Road, or turn south onto Dashatou Road and continue straight to Dashatou Second Road. Take Exit A of Tuanyi Square Station on Line 6 and follow Yuexiu South Road, then Guangzhou-Kowloon Avenue to the Inner Ring Road intersection. You can clearly see the horizontal locomotive and two carriages, providing a good viewing angle, but you'll have to detour a few hundred meters to cross the Inner Ring Road.

Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall:
You can take the 229 bus directly from Shiji Village. If you run into traffic, it's safer to take the subway. Note that ticket sales for the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall close at 4:45 PM. Adults are 10 yuan, and seniors are free. The octagonal design represents the Three Principles of the People combined with the Five-Power Constitution. The staircases also feature octagonal motifs. Inside, there's a video introducing the architectural design and an exhibition on Sun Yat-sen's deeds.

Behind the Memorial Hall, on Yingyuan Road, is the Guangzhou Taoist Temple, Sanyuan Temple, which is worth a side trip.

Please note that the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall ticket sales hours and that Sanyuan Temple closes at 5:00 PM, allowing you to adjust your afternoon schedule.
