Dafo Temple
Located in the heart of Guangzhou, China, Dafo Temple is one of the city's most historically significant Buddhist temples. It's renowned for its large reclining Buddha statue, which is why it's named "Dafo," which means "Big Buddha."
As you enter the temple grounds, visitors are greeted by a tranquil atmosphere, a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. The temple's interior features exquisite traditional Chinese architecture, with wooden pillars carved with dragon and deity motifs. The faint scent of incense and the ringing of bells inspire devotion and a sense of peace.
The reclining Buddha statue in the main hall, measuring 6 meters long and made of sandalwood, is one of the largest reclining Buddha statues in southern China.
