✨Must-visit spots in the city (Trap-avoidance version)
✔️Elephant Trunk Hill: Visit early morning or late evening when fewer people are around. Don’t waste money on the scenic bamboo raft; stroll along the lake to capture the mountain’s reflection in the water—nature’s own filter makes it even more stunning.
✔️Two Rivers and Four Lakes: The Sun and Moon Twin Towers light up at night like glazed tiles edged in gold. Taking a boat tour at night with the breeze on your face, every snap is full of atmosphere.
✔️Jingjiang Princes’ City: History buffs will love it, but just browsing the cultural shops is enough. Purely wandering the ancient buildings is great for photos.
✔️Dongxi Alley: The ancient-style architecture is perfect for vintage-style photos. Check out the cultural shops for something new, but for souvenirs, head to the city supermarkets for better value.

🍜 Foodie list (Local Guilin people’s secret recommendations)
✔️Guilin Rice Noodles: Look for the old roadside shops charging 5 yuan for 2 liang! Add braised pork and sour bamboo shoots; the moment the sauce mixes in, the aroma will make you stomp your feet. Avoid the 15 yuan bowls in tourist areas.
✔️Pushi Restaurant (a must-try favorite): The sour and spicy snail chicken is powerful, the beer fish is incredibly fresh. Sitting in the restaurant, you get a 270° view of Dongxi Alley and Jingjiang Princes’ City, with Duxiu Peak overhead—eating here feels like dining with a view.
✔️Beer Fish: Choose Jian Bone Fish! Few bones and tender meat, freshly killed and cooked for maximum freshness. Always ask the price before ordering to avoid “market price” traps.
-
🚄 Transportation: Prefer Guilin Station or North Station! Close to the city, a taxi to Two Rivers and Four Lakes takes about 10 minutes, much more convenient than the airport.
💡Tips: Weather affects the scenery! On sunny days, the landscape shows a blue-green hue, looking like an ink painting in photos; on rainy days, bring a sun/rain umbrella. Wandering the ancient streets in misty rain offers a different charm~
