Guiyang Confucius Academy: A Great Place to Experience Confucian Traditions

Located in Huaxi District, Guiyang, overlooking the Shilihetan Wetland Park, the Confucius Academy sits by the beautiful riverside of colorful Guizhou, evoking a sense of nostalgia for ancient times. The grand statue of Confucius, surrounded by his disciples like Zigong and Zilu, brings the teachings of the Analects vividly to life. Next to the Confucius Exhibition Hall is the Wang Yangming Exhibition Hall, where two Confucian masters separated by thousands of years seem to gaze at each other across the tides of history. During the visit, I happened to encounter elementary school students on a field trip. Chatting with them about sayings like 'A gentleman does not compete; if he must, let it be in archery,' made me reflect on how thousands of years of cultural history have seamlessly integrated into our daily lives, shaping the Chinese virtues of kindness, respect, humility, and self-restraint.
🏖️ Environment/Facilities: Guiyang Confucius Academy
💰 Average Cost: Free admission with registration
📍 Transportation: Take Metro Line 3 to Confucius Academy, or, for a more scenic route, I recommend cycling from Shilihetan.
