Gyeongju Seochulji Pond (西出池)

When visiting Gyeongju, people often head to famous spots like Bulguksa Temple or Seokguram Grotto. However, Seochulji Pond is a hidden gem where you can experience a serene and beautiful atmosphere. The pond itself is not very large, but it is surrounded by tranquil scenery, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll. When I visited in spring, the cherry blossoms reflected on the pond created an enchanting view. Crossing the bridge in the middle of the pond and taking in the scenery felt like stepping into a traditional Korean painting. Another appealing aspect is that it’s not crowded with tourists, allowing for a peaceful stay. Although it’s a bit away from downtown Gyeongju, this distance adds to its quiet charm. If you want to experience the old-world charm of Korea along with its natural beauty, I highly recommend adding Seochulji Pond to your itinerary.
