Jiangnan small town

The famous Shaoxing yellow wine is brewed with the water from Jianhu Lake. Lu You spent his later years in seclusion by the side of Jianhu Lake, looking at this picturesque scenery, no wonder he maintained a poetic and chivalrous spirit throughout his life.

The islands of Jianhu Lake are elegant. The islands are connected by various unique bridges, and there are so many bridges that they are everywhere. Although there are many small bridges, they allow for thoroughfare in all directions, creating endless charm.

Famous attractions include Jing Shui Bridge (one of the most famous floating bridges in ancient Shaoxing), Xi Jin Bridge, Hua Bridge (where Lu You used to retire to his hometown and often came here to fish in a small painted boat.), and Wannian Stage (This stage in the Jiangnan water town faces east with water on both sides, overlooking Jianhu Lake. This place recreates the folk opera style and the scene of performing plays in water towns as described by Lu Xun.)
