[Hokkaido] Goryokaku Tower

Visited Goryokaku Tower in Hakodate City.
The tower itself is only about 100m high, but the other buildings are low, so the view is excellent.
Not only is the view great, but inside the tower there is an exhibition about the history of Goryokaku, which is very easy to see and interesting.
It's moving to think that this was the turning point when Shinsengumi's Hijikata Toshizo fled further and further north at the end of the Edo period, finally reaching Goryokaku and surrendering to the new government forces that were pursuing him, finally changing the era.
