On a busy weekend in Hakone, we stumbled upon a nostalgic gem—Restaurant Bright, a charming old-school Western-style diner nestled in the greenery near Lake Ashi. Surrounded by trees and tucked away from the crowds, the setting felt like a peaceful retreat straight out of the Showa era.

We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including a seafood pizza that hit the spot. The portions were generous, the flavors comforting, and the whole experience felt like a step back in time. It’s the kind of place that locals have probably loved for decades—and now we understand why.

With full bellies and happy hearts, we slowly made our way home, enjoying the scenic drive through Hakone’s winding roads. A perfect way to wrap up a weekend escape.
