Spring Skiing in Hakuba Goryu – 15 Days of First Lifts, Carving & Valley Walks

We spent 15 chilled-out days in Hakuba Goryu to wrap up our ski season. Staying at Obogurgl, just a short walk up to the lifts, we had a perfect balance of early skiing and quiet afternoons.
Mornings started with first lifts and icy runs—perfect for carving on skis. There was still good snow up top, especially on the slopes of Goryu and Hakuba 47. Spring corn softened things by mid-morning, making for fun, easy laps.
Lunch highlights:
Escal Plaza for quick warm meals
A mountain café at the top of Goryu with amazing views and even better cheesecake
Hakuba 47 for laid-back lunches while watching the park scene
Afternoons, we walked through the valley to grab groceries—7-Eleven, Lawson, and Aeon Hakuba Big were our usual stops. Peaceful roads, rice paddies, and mountain views made it more than just a grocery run.
As we left, the snow was still holding strong up top, and with a couple of weeks left in the season, the mountains weren’t done yet.
