When the setting sun shines through the skylight of the grottoes onto the golden statues of the Buddha, I finally understood what "a thousand years in one glance" truly means.
Why You Must Visit Xiangtang Mountain:
1500 years ago, the Northern Qi royal aesthetic was on display! The flying celestial dancers, flame-patterned Buddha niches, and breathtaking artistry leave you speechless. This is the landmark site that Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin once studied. It's also the birthplace of the national treasure seen on the show National Treasures. Few domestic places offer this "light and shadow grotto" experience, where at 3 PM, the Buddha light shines down, creating a miraculous moment. This half-day tour is not tiring at all, with a moderate hiking intensity, and the stunning scenery feels like something out of a martial arts movie.
Transportation Guide:
By Car: Navigate to the "Xiangtang Mountain Scenic Area Visitor Center." Parking fee is 10 yuan/day.
By Train: Take a high-speed train to Handan East Station, then a taxi to Fengfeng Bus Station, and take bus 1 to directly reach the site.
Tip: It’s recommended to buy a round-trip sightseeing bus ticket (40 yuan) to reach the grottoes directly.
