Heqiao Ancient Town, a seriously underestimated treasure town,
Full of fireworks but always low-key existence,
This is probably one of the reasons why I particularly love her.

Heqiao Ancient Town has a history of more than 1300 years,
It used to be a gathering place for "hundred people, hundred industries, hundred shops, hundred craftsmen",
Because of business, it has been scattered to this day, lost its prominent reputation,
But it left a rich folk customs and unique charm.

Small bridges, flowing water, misty homes,
The Huizhou-style buildings with pink walls and black tiles are built along the creek,
The reflection in the creek is like a landscape painting.
Different from the softness of the ancient towns in Jiangsu and Zhejiang,
There is a bit more wildness here.

The eight-character wooden bridge across both banks,
From time to time, villagers ride electric bikes through it.
In addition to the villagers who are busy washing and drying by the creek,
There is also an old yellow cow resting.

This is probably the quietest ancient town I have ever been to,
There are hardly any tourists,
There are various shops on both sides of the street,
Basically, it's the local people's business,
When there is no business, a few people get together to play cards.

I was almost hungry after lunch.
Fortunately, I finally found a small shop that makes "Heqiao collapsed cakes" still open,
So I tried this local specialty,
The stuffing of native chicken eggs, amaranth, and pork is very delicious.
