After checking in at the hotel, I decided to take a walk in the warm winter sun. I searched for nearby attractions on Trip.com and found Chanyuan Temple. The reviews were good, so I decided to go.
I walked slowly up the mountain path. As it was close to New Year's Eve, there were few people. The temple is large and quiet, and the architecture is very comfortable. When the wind blows the wind chimes, they make a crisp and powerful sound. It feels like time has stopped. I wanted to sit on the steps and enjoy the sun, but it was too windy.
There is a coffee shop in the west wing. The coffee is handmade and tastes great. It was a pleasant surprise. The barista is very skilled and helps out in the temple when he has time. The warm room and hot drinks warmed me up and made me feel satisfied.
Tips:
If you stay at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Tianmu Mountain, it is 4.3 km along Zaotian Line, an 8-minute drive. Tickets are CNY 20 per person, parking is CNY 10 per car.
I heard there are morning and evening classes, but I left before the evening class started. If you are interested, you can go for a walk. It is a great place to relax.
