Xishi Ancestral Hall, Zhennan Village, Hangzhou, Zhejiang

Xishi Ancestral Hall is a place of worship for the Xi family in the village. Xi is a rare surname that can be traced back to the Ji family, one of the eight great surnames of ancient times. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Shuhu, a senior official of the State of Jin, was granted the land of Xi for his meritorious service, and his descendants took the land as their surname, forming the Xi family. The Xishi Ancestral Hall was built in the Qing Dynasty. At present, there is only one hall with three rooms, covering an area of about 80 square meters. The ancestral hall still retains the complete Xi family tree, which records the history and heritage of the Xi family. The ancestral hall is not only a place for family worship, but also a witness to family culture and history. The architectural style and interior decoration of the ancestral hall reflect the characteristics of ancient clan culture and have high historical and cultural value.
