🌆 Introduction

Xiling Seal Art Society, founded in the 30th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1904), is a Chinese academic society dedicated to the study of metal and stone seal engraving. It is located at the foot of Gushan Mountain in the West Lake Scenic Area, south to Bai Causeway, west to Xiling Bridge, and north to Lixi Lake. Here, pavilions and towers are scattered in a well-organized manner, with springs and stones reflecting the winding paths. The ruins of Baitang and Zhuge are decorated with plaques and couplets, and couplets, plaques, and cliff stone carvings can be seen everywhere. The architecture of the Seal Society is integrated with the surrounding environment, and the cultural landscape complements the natural scenery. It is full of Chinese Zen aesthetic conception, making people feel as if they are in a simple and elegant ink painting.

You can start from Bai Causeway and walk along Gushan Road to Xiling Seal Art Society. After entering the Seal Society, you can first visit Baitang and Zhuge to feel the historical charm; then go to Yangxian Pavilion to admire the handwriting of celebrities; then climb the Huayan Sutra Pagoda to overlook the beautiful scenery of West Lake; and finally go to Huanpu Jinglu to learn about the culture of the Seal Society.

Take photos at the corner of the Seal Society with the simple and elegant buildings and green plants as the background; stand under the Huayan Sutra Pagoda and take a picture of the tower body from below; you can also take pictures through the doors and windows in the pavilions and towers to capture the interlaced light and shadow.
