Xixi National Wetland Park is as famous as West Lake

We entered Xixi National Wetland Park as the morning light filtered through reeds and low-hanging mist, casting a silvery calm over the waterlogged landscape 🌫️🌾🛶. Wooden boardwalks led us across marshes and winding streams where egrets stood motionless in the shallows, their reflections rippling with each gentle breeze. The air was fresh with the scent of mud, water, and wild grasses, and the sounds of the city faded behind us like a forgotten thought. We drifted past lotus ponds and old fishing huts, where history lived quietly among dragonflies and drifting leaves.
As we wandered deeper, narrow waterways opened into wider stretches where small boats glided silently between islets and willow trees 🎋🌊🕊️. We paused at ancient stone bridges, watched birds take flight over mirror-like water, and sipped tea in a thatched pavilion overlooking the wetlands. Xixi didn’t impress with grandeur it soothed with stillness. It felt less like a destination and more like a breath, a space suspended between nature and memory, where time moved with the water and we were simply carried along 🚣♀️🍃☁️.
