Hand-row boat rides on West Lake in Hangzhou is one of the most iconic experiences for visitors. Known for its classical beauty, willow-lined shores, and tranquil waters, the lake has inspired poets and artists for centuries.

Traditional wooden hand-row boats, often guided by local boatmen, allow travelers to drift across the water at a leisurely pace. From the boat, you can admire famous sights such as Leifeng Pagoda, Su Causeway, and the surrounding tea-covered hills🍃

My family and I visited during summer when the temperature peaked at 39°C. The wind that blew through was so hot, I nearly felt feverish. For the boat rowing, we only paid RMB 36 per person, as the boatman was about to finish for the day and ours was his last ride to Quyuan Fenghe. So, if you want to save money come over right before they finish the last boat!
