The Wetland Museum is the only wetland-themed museum in China. As one of Earth's remade ecosystems, wetlands hold many stories to tell.
I initially thought the museum was simply beautiful, but surprisingly, I found it incredibly enjoyable to visit and learned a lot. I feel it expresses a deeper respect for life and nature than simply a wetland museum.
How do we survive in this world? How should we safeguard the meaning of existence? Beginning with the relationship between three ancient civilizations and rivers, the museum slowly recounts the long history of human and biological interactions in wetlands.
Cities and rivers, humans and rivers, life and rivers.
If you visit, be sure to visit the wetland projection room. The films are short, but you can sit through them all, and I cried at the end.
