Lingyin Feilai Peak

#Mainland China Attractions
Feilai Peak faces the hillside of Lingyin Temple, which is dotted with more than 340 Buddhist cave statues dating back to the Five Dynasties. It is a rare ancient cave art treasure in Jiangnan, my country, and is comparable to the Dazu Rock Carvings in Chongqing. Su Dongpo once wrote the poem "Everywhere among the streams and mountains can be a place to live, but I love Lingyin Feilai Peak the most."
The Buddha statue occupies almost the entire Feilai Peak, so it is not an exaggeration to describe it as Foshan. The Buddha statues were mainly carved during the Yuan Dynasty and the Northern and Southern Song Dynasties, so they are of great value for archaeological and historical research.
The Buddha statues on Feilai Peak are all carved from stone, but it is obvious that the stone used may not be of top quality, and the carving level does not feel top-notch either. So it may be quite attractive to Buddhists, but if you just appreciate the carving craftsmanship, it is not very ornamental for me. #GoodNewYearDestinations #ChinaTravel #ChinaTourism #Zhejiang #LingyinTemple #Buddhism #BuddhaStatue #StoneCarving #BuddhaStatue
