What should you eat if you only have one day in Hanoi?

Hanoi is known as a food paradise in Southeast Asia.
How to enjoy Hanoi’s food to the fullest?
I have picked out a few of my favorites below.

🍽>
Phở 10 Lý Quốc Sư
When you come to Vietnam, you must eat noodles. Phở is river rice noodles, and bún is lemon noodles, similar to rice noodles. There are so many noodle shops on the streets of Hanoi. As long as you find a shop with a lot of people, you won’t be cheated. He has a large family and needs to wait for a table during peak hours. There are also many locals who come here specifically to eat.

This barbecue noodle restaurant is hidden in an inconspicuous alley. You don’t need to order after you enter. The boss will serve the noodles according to the number of people. You can order spring rolls and iced tea by yourself. Pay special attention to their business hours, they only sell until 2pm.

Happy Birthday
When you come to Vietnam, besides noodles, you must eat glutinous rice. They have three kinds of glutinous rice: pure glutinous rice, one with pea yellow, and one mixed with grains. I personally prefer the mixed grain one because it tastes better. There are so many side dishes, I just ordered MIX. The grilled meat and sausages are delicious, and there is also the Vietnamese specialty liver pâté, the kind that is added to baguette sandwiches. It has a bit of fishy smell, so if you mind it, avoid it.
🕑Business hours: 6:30-22:00

Banh Mi 25
This shop has been voted as the most popular and best Vietnamese sandwich shop in Hanoi. Not only tourists but also Hanoi locals come here to eat. When business is good, you have to wait for a long time. Their family has been making sandwiches since their grandmother’s generation, and the craft is passed down to daughters, not sons, so you’ll see girls everywhere in the store.
🕑Business hours: 7:00-21:00

🍽>
Cafe Lam
Many people have heard of Hanoi’s egg coffee. There are two cafes famous for this coffee, Cafe Giảng and Cafe Lâm. The environment in Lâm is better. It is said that egg coffee originated from the fact that there was a shortage of milk in Hanoi at that time, so the chef tried to use eggs as a substitute, and unexpectedly created a legendary cup of coffee.
🕑Business hours: 7:00-22:00

This is the Trang
His family mainly sells three types of snail products: large snails, small snails and clams. The big snail is golden apple snail, which I strongly recommend not to order. If you want to try it, just ignore what I said. The small one is field snail, but it was sold out when we went there, and there was only steamed scallops. This scallop is steamed with basil leaves, lemon leaves, pineapple and chili peppers, and is very sweet. There is also a snack in the store called Nem Bùi Bắc Ninh, which originated from Bac Ninh Province. The filling is made of pork, rice and soybean flour. Roll it up with fig leaves and dip it in chili sauce or fish sauce. You can feel the spiciness of the fig leaves and the sweetness of the meat. It is worth a try.
🕑Business hours: 14:30-22:00

The above addresses can be found on Google Maps. They are basically all near Hoan Kiem Lake. Some stores have multiple branches, so just choose the one closest to you.
