|Vietnam|Hoa Lo Prison in Hanoi - Historical marks behind bars

Hoa Lo Prison was built during the French colonial period. It was originally used by the French to detain Vietnamese political prisoners. Later, it was used to imprison American prisoners of war during the Vietnam War.

Although most of the prison buildings have been demolished, only a part of it is now open to the public as a memorial museum, but every wall, every cell and exhibits tell the story of the Vietnamese people's perseverance and resistance under colonialism and war.

🔍 Highlights of the exhibition hall:
⛓️ Real-life display of imprisonment: Reproduction of iron bars, single cells and collective cells.
🪨 Guillotine area: Display of the guillotine used for execution during the colonial period, which is shocking.
📜 Prisoner manuscripts, historical materials of resistance, photo wall: restore the life and resistance spirit of political prisoners at that time.
🇻🇳 Vietnam War area: introduces the life and political background of American prisoners of war.
🎧 Provides audio guides with detailed content to add depth to the visit.

📸 Photo recommendation:
When shooting the exterior, you can capture the contrast between the iron windows and the heavy brick walls.
The indoor light is dim, so it is recommended to increase the exposure to capture the prison cells and the historical atmosphere.

✨Reminder
Please respect other visitors and the historical atmosphere before shooting the information display area, and do not make loud noises.
