Exceptional Hotel Stay

Wow, what an incredible hotel. Probably the finest I've ever experienced. The staff were extremely friendly and eager to assist. It's a very beautiful colonial-style hotel. The room had everything you'd expect from a 5-star establishment. We stayed for 2 nights before heading to Halong Bay for a 24-hour cruise, then returned for another night. Upon our return, we received a complimentary room upgrade, which was even more stunning. The remote control toilet was still quite amusing! The hotel is centrally located and there was a convenience store nearby for essentials like water. The breakfast was outstanding, especially the English breakfast tea, which is hard to find abroad. We dined at Angelina's a couple of times (named after Angelina Jolie, who stayed there). The food was excellent, and our host, Thuy (I believe that's her name), was exceptional, ensuring we had everything we needed and making time to chat with us. She truly deserves a promotion and a raise! We toured a bunker underneath the hotel, used during the war. The hotel's history is captivating, with famous guests ranging from Charlie Chaplin to Trump! The concierge was very knowledgeable, providing daily train schedules so we could see the train passing through Train Street—one of the highlights of our Hanoi trip. On our last afternoon, we planned to use the pool, but rain kept us indoors, so we relaxed in the bar with a cocktail, enjoying the view. The food costs are reasonable compared to other 5-star hotels in the West. Highly recommended.
