🌄Finally found a place to enjoy breathtaking autumn scenery without the crowds—Longtoushan in Hanzhong, Shaanxi. As a hidden gem at the Sichuan-Shaanxi border, it boasts colorful forest views comparable to Guangwu Mountain, but with a unique "painless hiking" method, making it an ideal spot for lazy autumn admirers.

🚠Easy access to the mountain peak
The biggest highlight of Longtoushan is no need to climb! The scenic area has created a "cable car + cloud ladder" system, allowing you to reach the 2200-meter-high summit from the visitor center with almost no walking.

🌈The first extreme incline sightseeing cable car in southern Shaanxi, 2 kilometers long with a height difference of about 1000 meters, takes only 10 minutes to transport you from the foot to the top. Stepping off the cable car, you’ll find the Northwest’s longest outdoor sightseeing escalator—the 180-meter-long "cloud ladder," like a dragon soaring into the sky, truly achieving zero-step summit access.

Every autumn, Longtoushan transforms into a natural oil painting canvas. With a dense forest coverage of 96.5%, the leaves turn red, yellow, orange, and other vibrant colors in autumn, intertwined with swirling mist, as if stepping into a fairy tale world.

☁️The best viewing period is from October to November, especially after rain when the sea of clouds is most likely to appear. Standing on the Longtou Cloud Walkway spanning the cliff, overlooking the colorful valley below feels like walking in the clouds.

Tickets and opening hours:
The scenic area is open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (entry stops at 3:30 PM in winter).
- Autumn (July 1 to November 30, 2025): Adult combo ticket is 138 RMB on weekdays and 158 RMB on weekends (includes admission + round-trip cable car).

🚗Transportation:
- Self-driving: Navigate to "Hanzhong Longtoushan International Tourism Resort," about a 40-minute drive from Hanzhong.
- High-speed rail + shuttle: Take the high-speed train to "Hanzhong Station," then transfer to the scenic area shuttle, about 1.5 hours total. There are buses departing at 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM daily from Hanzhong High-Speed Rail Station directly to the scenic area.

🏨Accommodation recommendation:
It is recommended to stay overnight at the Cloud Hotel or Aixue Hotel on the summit, where you can photograph the starry sky and enjoy the sea of clouds sunrise the next day. Remember to book 3-5 days in advance.
