Exploring Havana? Here’s your must-see guide to the city’s most iconic spots, all walkable and bursting with vintage charm 🚶♂️🌴. Expect bold baroque facades, art-filled courtyards, and a taste of old Havana’s colorful everyday life.
Top Spots to Visit:
1. Plaza de la Catedral (4JRX+89R, La Habana, Cuba) – This stunning square is the heart of Old Havana, open all day, perfect for sitting back and people-watching as the city comes alive. Don’t miss the colonial-era buildings framing the plaza!
2. Museo de Arte Colonial (61 San Ignacio, La Habana, Cuba, 10:00-16:00 Tue–Sun) – Step inside for a dose of Cuban history and see period furniture, art, and lush inner courtyards. Go early to avoid tour groups.
3. Havana Cathedral / Catedral de la Virgen Maria de la Concepcion Inmaculada (156 Empedrado, La Habana, Cuba, 09:00-14:00 Sat–Sun; 09:00-17:00 Mon–Fri) – Its baroque beauty is a photo op magnet! Stroll the inside halls for cool shade and classic architecture.
4. Taquechel Pharmacy Museum (Calle Obispo No. 155, Havana) – A quirky step back in time. Check out the vintage medicine bottles and original pharmacy counters; it’s a hidden gem just off bustling Obispo Street.
5. Don’t skip Panaderia Dulceria San Jose! Fuel up with flakey pastries and strong Cuban coffee here before hitting another round of sightseeing.
Getting Around: Old Havana is super walkable, but bring comfy shoes (cobblestone streets can be rough!). Taxis are everywhere for longer hops—don’t forget to agree on the fare first.
Tips: Carry cash—cards don’t always work, especially at small cafés. Dress cool, bring a hat, and use sunscreen; midday sun is fierce!
