Hejian Prefecture Office|Memories of the Prefecture Office Between Blue Bricks and Gray Tiles

#SeptemberGoodPlaces2025
Stepping into the Hejian government office felt like stepping into a page of ancient scrolls. The heavy blue bricks and gray tiles quietly tell of the historical splendor of the Ming and Qing dynasties. In the spacious courtyard, the stone pavement, worn smooth by time, casts a warm luster under the sunlight. Strolling along the corridors, the red pillars and green tiles complement each other beautifully, almost allowing one to hear the footsteps of former officials. The main hall of the government office is solemn and awe-inspiring, the four characters "Wei Min Jing Ming" (Speaking for the People) on the wooden plaque still retain their vibrant vitality, inspiring awe.
I lingered in a corner for a long time, the only sound in my ears being the whisper of the wind through the window lattices. The remaining files, torture instruments, and antique furniture are not merely displays; they are tangible fragments of time. As I left, the setting sun fell perfectly on the tall archway, enveloping the government office in a golden glow, as if history were whispering to me in that moment.
