Shuangshuan
The teahouse in the Kokoen Garden. It was noon when we visited the Kokoen Garden. The sun was so strong that it made people feel restless. As soon as we saw a teahouse to cool off, we went in without thinking. It was so beautiful and leisurely! The service staff also served tea in kimonos. The exquisite Japanese confectionery and beautiful tea bowls were impressive. It was comfortable to drink a bowl of matcha here.
I checked the information and found that Shuangshuan was designed and supervised by Sengenshiro, the 15th generation head of the Urasen family. The design concept was the teahouse in the samurai mansion in the Edo period, striving for simplicity and incorporating the architectural beauty of the ancient traditional Japanese culture "tea ceremony".
Shuangshuan was built by the Sukiya architectural masters of Kyoto. In order to show respect for the castle tower, not only the entire building, but also each teahouse faces the castle tower of Himeji Castle. The garden and the outdoors are full of greenery, suitable for all seasons, and it is really beautiful.
