🚅 We took the Shinkansen to Himeji City, and the bright white spire of the castle stood out from afar. Upon exiting Himeji Station, we walked straight along the main road leading from the station to the castle. It was only about a 15-minute walk, but along the way, we were swarmed with souvenir shops and cute Japanese sweets, which made us stop and wander around.
🕊 Upon reaching the castle entrance, our first impression was that it was much larger than we had imagined. The tall stone walls and arched wooden bridges over the moats created a truly breathtaking atmosphere.
Himeji Castle doesn't have an elevator, so we had to climb up to the top. However, upon reaching the top, we saw the cascading gray roofs against the green Himeji City below. It was incredibly beautiful and peaceful.🙂
🌲After enjoying the view, we walked outside to the garden next to the castle. It was a quiet place with a koi pond, a wooden bridge, and a Japanese-style rock garden. 🍵If you're a history buff or want to truly experience the beauty of traditional Japan, Himeji Castle is a must-see.
Getting there: 🚅
