A Luxurious Coffee Jelly Parfait in Hita, Oita Prefecture

In countries like South Korea and Vietnam, I’ve developed a habit of heading to a café after meals as if it were a ritual. This habit has followed me on my travels, making me crave café time after every meal.

In Hita, however, I struggled to find a café that truly caught my interest. I ended up researching desperately to find one.

Then, I discovered "Futatsuki," a café housed in a renovated traditional Japanese home. The dimly lit and tranquil interior, the soothing sound of records playing as background music, and the charming decorations scattered throughout the space immediately captured my heart the moment I stepped inside.

I ordered the coffee jelly parfait and carrot cake. The parfait was a luxurious treat, featuring layers of coffee granita, coffee jelly, coffee cream, ice cream, and granola. The variety of textures blended and melted together in my mouth, creating a delightful experience. The carrot cake, generously filled with walnuts, was equally exquisite and delicious.

Though my time there was brief, I felt completely detached from reality and enveloped in a sense of calm. I’d love to bring friends and family here.
