There are more ways to get from Yufuin to Hita than you might think!
The most common option is to take the JR train—it takes about an hour from Yufuin Station to Hita Station (ひた駅), which is connected to the Yufuin Line (JR Kyūdai Main Line).
However, trains run every 1-2 hours, so be sure to check the schedule in advance. ⏰
🚗 Taking the bus is also a great option.
From Yufuin Bus Terminal, take the Kyushu Hokubu Bus bound for Hita. The trip takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes and costs around 1,500 yen.
The bus passes through mountain roads and rural villages along the way, adding to the travel atmosphere.🌿
🚶♀️ After arriving at Hita, most of the travel is on foot! Mamedamachi Street, directly connected to Hita Station, is a major tourist attraction, with traditional houses, cafes, and souvenir shops all within walking distance.
If you're renting a car, the journey from Yufuin to Hita is approximately 40km,
a 50-minute drive. The roads are quiet and easy to navigate.
A journey along a leisurely transportation route —
It's the perfect route to experience the leisurely pace of rural Japan, rather than the hustle and bustle of the city.🚙💨
