Combining Eastern wisdom and Western architecture: A tour of the former South Vietnamese presidential palace in Ho Chi Minh City

There was a time when the entire country was divided into South Vietnam and North Vietnam. Today’s Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam, once had a grand presidential palace. Since the entire country was reunified and the city was renamed Ho Chi Minh City, the former presidential palace has been renamed the Palace of Reunification.

The Unity Palace was drafted by an Eastern architect, so the entire building used the most advanced construction techniques of the time, taking advantage of the local climate in Vietnam. Even at 35 degrees in summer, the rooms located on the upper floors are well ventilated, with large floor-to-ceiling windows and abundant sunlight.

As the residence of important people in Eastern countries, the room design has a strong oriental color: for example, the number of rooms, calculated according to feng shui; important diplomatic rooms, former president's family living room, the designer incorporated many traditional Chinese elements, such as the use of large landscape painting accents, even the central lobby shop circular Kowloon rug, imprinting the sky, the traditional image of the dragon as the sacred symbol of the East.

Because the weather is very hot, after visiting the whole exhibition, in fact, the person is still very hot, there is a cafe in front of the palace gate, the freshly squeezed watermelon juice is really cool after drinking😂
