In 1975, a North Vietnamese tank crashed into the main gate of the Independence Palace effectively ending the Vietnam War. Today, the Independence Palace, also called the Reunification Palace, is one of the main historical attractions of Ho Chi Minh City. Time seems to have “frozen” here - two tanks that participated in the storming of the palace are still standing on the territory, and an exact copy of a military helicopter is installed on the roof of the building. Inside this five-story palace, interiors in the style of the late 1960s and 1970s have been preserved. In the basement of the building there is a bunker with a labyrinth of tunnels and a telecommunications center.
Address: Independence Palace, Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa, Bến Thành, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
