The Ngong Ping 360 cable car station on the mountaintop is a great starting point for visiting Ngong Ping. The 25-minute cable car ride covers over 5.7 km from Tung Chung, offering impressive unobstructed views of the winding landscapes of North Lantau Country Park, the coastal area of Tung Chung Bay, and planes taking off and landing at Hong Kong International Airport.
Ngong Ping Plateau, at the foot of Lantau Peak on Lantau Island, is an ideal place in Hong Kong for a spiritually enriching trip to experience Buddhist culture and the beauty of nature. This location is home to the over 115-year-old Po Lin Monastery, featuring temples and halls, as well as the iconic bronze statue of the Big Buddha, inspired by the architectural designs of the Song (960–1279), Ming (1368–1644), and Qing (1644–1911) dynasties. Hike further up the hill to enjoy panoramic views of the plateau. Be amazed by the 'Heart Sutra' calligraphy works by expert Chinese calligraphers and enjoy the spectacular cable car ride with stunning sea views of Lantau Island and Tung Chung Bay.
Ngong Ping 360 operates daily:
• Weekdays: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Weekends & Public Holidays: 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM
