The legendary hostel in Sham Shui Po

🌈Theme Features:
☘️Mei Ho House, built in 1954, is one of the earliest public housing estates in Hong Kong and the only remaining 'H' shaped resettlement building. YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel was revitalized from the original public housing.
☘️As one of the earliest public housing estates in Hong Kong, Mei Ho House is naturally full of stories spanning half a century. Even the recent popular novel 'Kowloon Walled City' by Yu Er features a key character, Tornado, who once lived in Mei Ho House.
☘️A major feature of this hostel is the 'Mei Ho House Museum,' which showcases the history of public housing and the daily lives of the original residents.

🏘️Room Type/Layout: Twin room, approximately 25 square meters, with private bathroom, wardrobe, sofa area, and dressing/office desk.

🧹Soundproofing/Hygiene:
The soundproofing and hygiene conditions are good, but it felt humid during that period, and the space seemed to be filled with moisture. The quilt was very thin, and using the air conditioner at a low temperature could easily cause a cold. Sofa🛋rest area and dressing/office desk.

🎯Entertainment Facilities: The room has a TV📺, and there are simple seats on the first floor.

💰️Average Cost: 180 per person, twin room 351. Booking on weekdays at the end of May was very affordable. Now, the same room type during the summer vacation has increased to five or six hundred.

💗Other Tips:
☘️Generally, hostels do not provide disposable toiletries, so you need to bring your own. Mei Ho House does not even provide slippers, so remember to bring them before checking in.
☘️The attached Mei Ho House Museum is well worth a visit. There are free postcards available at the entrance. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00-18:00 (closed on Mondays).
