🇭🇰Hong Kong|A must-go for railway fans! A look at life in the last century from the perspective of trains

When it comes to Tai Po, what else comes to mind besides picnicking and flying kites at the Seaside Park? We will not be heading to the seaside today, but will take a half-day tour of history and culture to learn about the past and present of the buildings in Tai Po District.

The Hong Kong Railway Museum was formerly the Tai Po Market Railway Station. As shown on the doorplate, it was built in 1913 and has a history of more than 100 years. Except for the gate and signboard, the waiting room and chairs in the museum still retain their original appearance. Being in it feels like walking into the set of a TV series in the Republic of China.

In the 1910s, steam trains were the main trains in operation. However, since the introduction of electric trains by KCR in the 1980s and the opening of the new Tai Po Market Station (now Tai Po Market Station), the "old" Tai Po Market Railway Station has completed its historical mission. Some old train carriages are displayed in museums, and some are even open to the public for photographing.

To be honest, I know this place not because of its history, but because it has always been a very popular private photo location! In particular, the light and shadow of the old carriage is very soft at dusk, which is a good time for taking photos.
