This time we go deep into Hong Kong's "marginal area" of Tuen Mun. The terminal of the Light Rail, Tuen Mun Pier, is not actually the most remote place in Tuen Mun, but Long Pu Beach! Take advantage of the holiday to take a half-day trip. In the afternoon, we will head to Long Gu Beach to watch the sunset. In the evening, we will go to the Red Bridge area to find food
Long Gu Beach is located on the western edge of Hong Kong. It is named after Long Gu Chau across from the beach. It is said that humans lived here as early as 5 or 6 thousand years ago, but the villages in the Longgutan area were officially established during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. You can enjoy stunning sunsets, the power plant and black sandy beach are unique views here.
This place is only separated from Hong Kong's "most beautiful sunset" Hau Bai Mui landfill in Western New Territories. I think the sunset here is not inferior to Hau Bai Mui, but the environment is worse, most disgusting facilities are located here - for example, Hong Kong's 3 power plants have 2 in Long Gu Beach, nearby more sludge treatment center, cement plant and other facilities.
📍Tuen Mun Dragon Beach
You can take the K52 bus from Tuen Mun Station or Tuen Mun Pier Station.
