Melaleuca alternifolia, also known as Melaleuca alternifolia, is a plant species that grows in Australia. Of the 236 known species, 230 are native to Australia.
Wild Melaleuca trees mainly grow near water or on the edge of swamps.
In Hong Kong, there is also a patch of Melaleuca alternifolia surrounding the Shing Mun Reservoir.
Today's weather is cloudy and dry for a long time, so you can walk through the wooden steps and take a close look at the Melaleuca tree. The texture of the Melaleuca root is peeling off layer by layer, which is unique. (I believe it will be more beautiful if the weather is good and the sun is shining.)
It is said that if it rains continuously, the water level of the pond will rise and will soak through the roots of the Melaleuca alternifolia, resulting in a reflection of the sky mirror of the Melaleuca alternifolia. (Be sure to come back to see it in the rainy season 🙈.)
🌟🌟🌟
There are many monkeys near the pond on foot. If you are not careful, you may be scared by the large number of monkeys. But it doesn't matter. As long as you don't disturb the monkeys, they will not actively attack humans.
⚠️⚠️⚠️
Remember to meet monkeys
Do not touch/attack monkeys
Do not feed the monkeys
Avoid eye contact with monkeys
Put the food/bag in the backpack to prevent monkeys from snatching the food.
Route: Pineapple Bus Station - Walk along the road until you reach a signboard with Melaleuca Alpinia, which is the Melaleuca check-in point.
🌟It is very easy to get there. If you have limited time, you can easily check in and leave by the same route. It is a B B level hike.
🌟If you have enough time, you can continue walking, go around Chengmen Reservoir to the main dam of the reservoir, and then return.
🌟One day, if you set out early and don’t want to go back, you can retreat via the 7-section hiking route of the MacLehose Trail. (The journey is long and takes a long time. It requires very good physical strength and leg strength.🙈)
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Everyone has the responsibility to protect nature, do not destroy it, do not pollute it, and take away your own trash.
transportation:
🚌Bus: 1: Exit B1 of Tsuen Wan MTR Station, walk to Siu Wo Street, take minibus 82 to the terminus (Pineapple King)
Buses from various districts: Take buses 32, 36, 40X, 47X, 48X, etc. at the "Ho Fung Middle School" stop, walk forward, and walk along the slightly uphill road along Cheng Mun for 15-20 minutes to Pineapple House.
