【Hong Kong】Victoria Prison at Tai Kwun, a flexible guide

Tai Kwun complex serves law enforcement, judiciary, and incarceration functions, with the incarceration function carried out by Victoria Prison within the complex.

Today, after renovation, the prison has become a prison exhibition hall at the back of the complex, divided into several different exhibition rooms.

Theoretically, you should start from Hall A, but I think it’s better to start from the red brick building of the former Central Magistracy: you should begin at any of D, E, or F halls, then explore C, as well as A and B halls in reverse order. The final stop is the restaurant on the first floor of the Central Magistracy.

The biggest advantage of free exploration is adapting to the situation—stop to see an exhibition wherever you are. Following a fixed route would mean constantly going up and down and walking extra distance. Since there are no resting seats along the way, this flexible approach suits friends with different stamina levels 😌

Of course, when you get tired, Tai Kwun has several unique restaurants built according to the characteristics of the buildings. Next time, I’ll definitely choose one to try 😌
