Tai Kwun Italian Restaurant

I've always thought the architecture of Tai Kwun is very stylish, and many of the restaurants have unique features. This time, I finally had the chance to try one of the Italian restaurants there.

The restaurant's decor is very luxurious; both the color scheme and the chandelier combination give me a strong sense of art and style. Many spots are also great for taking photos.
Since we booked through OpenRice, the restaurant first served us two small flatbreads, which tasted good with a rich cheese and tomato sauce flavor. Additionally, a basket of special appetizer breads came in various styles.

We ordered two lunches:
🌟 Homemade Black Truffle Parmesan Cheese Pasta
Although this dish is priced separately, when you see a plate full of black truffle slices on the pasta, you feel it’s totally worth it. The black truffle flavor is super rich, and combined with Parmesan cheese, it’s simply a little brother’s favorite choice.

🌟 Black Pepper Goat Cheese Penne
Actually, this goat cheese penne tastes pretty good, with a strong goat cheese flavor and a nice bite from the penne. But I slightly felt the plating lacked any decoration, so it didn’t achieve the full effect of color, aroma, and taste.

🌟 Roasted Chicken Leg with Green Peas, Chili, and Potatoes 🥔
This main dish was a bit disappointing because after eating two high-quality pasta dishes, I had certain expectations for the main course, but it ended up being a letdown. The roasted chicken leg wasn’t crispy enough on the outside, and the meat wasn’t tender enough, failing to achieve the crispy outside and soft inside effect. Also, the potato skin was very hard; I suggest using crispy roasted potato wedges for better flavor.

🌟 French Vanilla Crème Brûlée
This crème brûlée tastes sweet and fragrant, up to standard.

It’s worth mentioning that the outdoor seating area is also very beautiful and unique for taking photos, allowing you to comfortably enjoy the entire view of Tai Kwun’s exterior. As for the service, most of the waitstaff were very friendly, even chatting with us in English and asking for our opinions 👍
