Tsim Sha Tsui - A Hidden Instagrammable Courtyard?!🪤

The location is a bit remote, truly hidden away. It was originally called Tokyo Shokudo 🎌, now renamed Tenjo Shokudo because it moved to a courtyard spot. Honestly, I find the environment so-so; the space is too small and narrow, with only a few tables. Maybe takeout is better, but the food quality is good, so there’s a steady flow of people and you have to wait for a seat 👨👨👦👦.

🐟 Double Eel Rice Bowl $158
One of the restaurant’s signature dishes, double the eel 🤓 using a whole eel. The eel is grilled to a fragrant char, tender, fresh, and meaty with every bite, paired with rich eel sauce, plus a fried egg and chopped green onions. The fried egg uses Japanese "Shinkigen • Akatsuki," with a strong egg flavor. The runny fried egg mixed with pearl rice is top-notch! Poke the half-cooked fried egg with chopsticks, mix it with the rich eel sauce, and place it on steaming hot rice—the flavor layers elevate.

🐄 Beef Sukiyaki with Japanese Set Meal $128
The beef is half fatty and half lean, not tough, and the portion is generous. The sukiyaki egg sauce is sweet and fragrant, containing onions, enoki mushrooms, and king oyster mushrooms. The set meal includes rice 🍚, miso soup 🥣, a Chinese-style salad 🥗, and dessert (green tea yokan).

⭐️ Butter-Seared Scallops
Using sashimi-grade 2L scallops, full of fresh flavor 😋 and not too chewy. Each serving has two pieces. The surface has a buttery aroma, and biting into it is springy, fresh, and fragrant.

🍤 Jumbo Fried Shrimp
The owner said this snack is very popular. The large jumbo fried shrimp are golden and crispy, with firm, bouncy meat. They’re fried perfectly fragrant without too thick a batter.
