👽 Whenever I think of eating "Watergate Chicken," I immediately think of the chicken rice from Bangkok's Watergate Market. This time, I purposely came during a less busy time to have a full meal, sit comfortably, and enjoy a menu with many choices.
.
🐔 They have a special menu promoting "Watergate Cauliflower Chicken Rice." The cauliflower is chopped finely and moist, mimicking rice grains, with a texture very similar to real rice but ten times healthier. The chicken is their signature tender and smooth meat, drizzled with chicken oil and spicy sauce, making you lick your lips! Add about HKD 30 for an extra portion of chicken, every bite is super satisfying!
.
🐷 My friend ordered the "Thai-style Boneless Pork Knuckle." As soon as it arrived, the aroma of spices hit us! The pork knuckle is braised until tender and flavorful, with so much collagen it sticks to your mouth. The boneless design means every bite is meaty, and dipping it in the sour and spicy sauce is truly unbeatable!
.
🍜 Being greedy, I also tried the "Thai-style Boat Noodles." For an extra HKD 6, I switched to Tom Yum soup base, turning it into a sour and spicy soup with a hint of coconut. The beef slices are large, half-cooked to tender perfection, with two beef balls. The Phnom Penh noodles soak up all the soup, and I only reluctantly put down the bowl after the last sip.
.
🦐 There's also the "Phoenix Tail Shrimp Thai-style Phnom Penh Noodles," grilled and spicy enough to be satisfying! The shrimp are quite bouncy, the Phnom Penh noodles are stir-fried dry, and the mildly spicy sauce has crushed peanuts, giving a rich texture.
.
🧋 Finally, I had a cup of "Iced Thai Milk Tea," with a tea aroma so strong it tastes like drinking milk tea-flavored ice cream! The sweetness is just right, not overly sweet, and cold without diluting the flavor. After drinking it, I felt very refreshed!
.
😋 The whole meal is very cost-effective, leaving me holding my belly full. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. I will definitely come back next time I pass by.
