Ma Luk
This is my second visit to a Singaporean restaurant called "Ma Luk" in North Point. The entrance has one step, so wheelchair users need to bring their own ramp to enter! Their afternoon tea set with noodles or rice starts at only $48, including a hot drink. Cold drinks are an additional $3, special drinks an extra $8, and you can also add snacks. Every time I come to "Ma Luk," I hear Indonesian songs playing. I wonder if there are many Indonesian customers, so they play Indonesian music?! 🤣🤣🤣
1. Nyonya Roasted Duck Laksa Mix $48 + Old Street Coconut Ice $8 (9.5/10)
This bowl of Nyonya Roasted Duck Laksa Mix is especially generous, with 8 large pieces of roasted duck. Each piece is roasted to a fragrant perfection, and the duck meat is not tough. It also includes half a soft-boiled egg, 4 pieces of tofu puffs, long beans, and bean sprouts. The mix means thick yellow noodles combined with thin vermicelli, all soaked in laksa sauce. The laksa soup base is very aromatic and not too spicy, really good!
For the drink, I ordered Old Street Coconut Ice. This coconut ice has a strong coconut flavor, slightly sweet, and very tasty!
2. Ma Luk Hainanese Chicken Clear Chicken Soup Rice Noodles $48 + Coconut Pandan Ice $8 (9.5/10)
This bowl of Ma Luk Hainanese Chicken Clear Chicken Soup Rice Noodles is also very generous, with 8 pieces of chicken. Each piece of chicken is tender and smooth. It also includes half a soft-boiled egg, 4 pieces of tofu puffs, long beans, and bean sprouts. The rice noodles are very smooth, and the chicken soup base is not greasy, with a rich chicken flavor. Pretty good!
For the drink, I ordered Coconut Pandan Ice. The pandan flavor is not too strong, and the coconut flavor is also mild, just right for me!
3. Pandan Kaya Toast $28 (9.5/10)
This snack, Pandan Kaya Toast, is crispy on the outside and soft inside. The pandan flavor is very prominent, and the butter is not too much, perfectly balanced. There are 4 pieces of pandan kaya toast in total!
4. Malaccan Belacan Water Spinach $22 (9/10)
This plate of Malaccan Belacan Water Spinach is also quite generous in portion, not too oily or salty. The stems and leaves are about half and half. Delicious!
5. Nyonya Fried Fresh Milk (2 pieces) $16 (10/10)
You can tell this Nyonya Fried Fresh Milk is freshly fried when you bite into it. The inside is quite hot, and the outside is very crispy. The fresh milk flavor is rich. There are 2 pieces of Nyonya Fried Fresh Milk in total!
Total price for 2 people: $178
Personal overall rating: 9.5/10
Address: G/F, 264 Electric Road, Fortress Hill, North Point
