North Point Plaza: Brikete Bistro (formerly Briketenia)

Still remember during COVID when my husband and I had a staycation, the highlight spot at North Point Plaza was the Hyatt Centric hotel – infinity pool + sea view of the Eastern Corridor. Now, you don’t even have to stay at the hotel for a staycation, because the outdoor view of this Western restaurant in Phase 2 of North Point Plaza also offers an incredibly charming sunset sea view. Plus, it’s a mid-range fine dining Western restaurant, perfect for the two of us to enjoy fresh seafood while reminiscing about the memories we shared back then.
Since it was our first visit, we wanted to try everything, but it was hard for two people to eat so many dishes, so we chose from the two-person dinner set. I originally ordered the French Beef Tartare for my husband who loves beef, but it turned out he only likes medium-rare beef or hotpot fatty beef slices, so he chose to eat my French white wine mussels instead. Surprisingly, he finished most of the mussels and even said he wouldn’t eat A5 Wagyu this time.
So for our mains, we also ordered seafood dishes (mushroom sauce clam linguine and baked French sole with clam cream sauce). It’s rare to eat so many clams, and my husband really didn’t miss any chance to enjoy them.
By the way, I usually worry about beef sensitivity after eating, but I took a risk with the sashimi beef and tartare, and really enjoyed the melt-in-your-mouth beef sashimi tartare with crispy bread, all while looking out at the Eastern Corridor – totally worth it 😂
