Did you know that Hong Kong is actually made up of several islands? The main points for sightseeing are Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula, and nowadays transportation like trains and cars is well developed.
However, in the past, ferries were the main way to travel between these two areas. As a remnant of that, ferries still operate today, and this time I want to recommend this route!
▪️Overview of Hong Kong Ferry
📍Star Ferry terminals: Tsim Sha Tsui (Kowloon Peninsula), Central (Hong Kong Island), Wan Chai (Hong Kong Island)
💰About 100 yen (card payment available)
Duration: About 5 minutes
Frequency: About one every 10 minutes
You will travel from one of the Hong Kong Island terminals to "Tsim Sha Tsui" on the Kowloon Peninsula, and the recommended route is "Central" to "Tsim Sha Tsui." (I think it’s best to decide which to start from based on your schedule.)
Central is the heart of Hong Kong with many tourist spots. The famous nightlife spot "Lan Kwai Fong" is also nearby.
Nowadays, you can also get from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon Peninsula by train, which can get you close to your destination, so honestly, that’s more convenient. But if you’re sightseeing, I definitely want you to ride this ferry✨
It’s not the million-dollar night view, but the night view of Victoria Harbour was very beautiful🌙 It’s a short ride, but enough! Above all, it’s cheap, so I recommend it.
Of course, you can enjoy the night view, but you can also ride during the day to enjoy a different scenery!
