👀 Attraction Name: Thousand Island Lake Viewing Platform

🏖️ Environment/Facilities: The Thousand Island Lake Viewing Platform is an excellent spot to capture the stunning panoramic view of Tai Lam Chung Reservoir.

💞 Recommended Because: Tai Lam Chung Reservoir is the largest reservoir in the northwest New Territories and was the first reservoir built after the war. The reservoir contains more than a dozen small hill islands and four large dams, earning it the nickname "Hong Kong's Thousand Island Lake." During the rainy spring and summer seasons, the water fills up, revealing the islands, creating an absolutely beautiful scene.

🗓️ Itinerary:

There are two main routes:

💖 Route One: Start from Yuen Long Tai Tong, take Exit B at Long Ping MTR station, then transfer to bus K66 or the Red Leaf bus towards Tai Tong Lychee Garden, and hike up from Barbecue Site No. 6 in the Country Park; or take the red minibus from Hung Min Wai in Yuen Long to Wong Nai Tun Village, then walk 10 minutes to Yeung Ka Village to start the hike.

💖 Route Two: Exit D at Tuen Mun West Rail Station. Take minibus 43 to the Tuen Mun So Kwun Wat terminus, then hike for about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

📷 Photo Spot: To capture the beauty of Thousand Island Lake, you have to climb to a higher spot, but you can also take beautiful photos from other angles. While shooting, it’s also nice to find a spot to sit and quietly enjoy the beautiful scenery.

👍 Tips: There are many attractions nearby. If you can set off early, you can also visit the nearby Maple Forest during the red leaf season to enjoy the autumn colors. On the other side, you can walk to the Golden Coast to watch the sunset.
