If you are curious about the universe and want to take a day in the middle of the city, the Hong Kong Space Museum is a good choice! This time I went to the Hong Kong Space Museum, located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, to feel the interstellar shuttle journey - in addition to the interactive exhibition area, there is also a giant planetarium where you can enjoy the legend of the Tyrannosaurus Rex and 3D Arctic extreme movies, perfect for parents or couples to play together!
🌟Highlights Overview:
1. Convenient location, a few minutes walk from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station;
2. The exhibition hall not only displays the knowledge of space, but also has many interactive devices, such as you can try to operate the telescope yourself, zero distance exposure to the mysteries of the universe.
3. The Planetarium regularly screens space-themed short films, which are both visually and aurally shocking, as if you have traveled to outer space in real time!
🔭Hong Kong Space Museum Introduction & Experience Sharing
The appearance of the Hong Kong Space Museum is easy to recognize. The dome design looks a bit like a big egg, which is great for taking pictures📸. The inside is divided into two main exhibition halls, the Space Science Exhibition Hall and the Universe Exhibition Hall. The exhibits cover solar systems, planets, black holes, and space technology and are updated fairly quickly. Some of the exhibitions also play with AR interaction, especially for kids and pseudo-scientists.
I recommend the Astronomy Hall to watch the show the most! There is a limited number of people for each broadcast. It is recommended that you make an appointment in advance on the official website of the Hong Kong Space Museum or arrive early to queue up. Some videos introduce astronomical phenomena, which are easy to understand and interesting. After watching them, I feel more like exploring the stars.
Real experience tips: The museum is not actually big, but if you look closely at the exhibition and play with the interactive installation, two hours is enough. Some of the exhibition areas have explanations in English and Chinese, which are easy for children to understand. In addition, the Space Museum regularly offers free astronomy workshops or telescope night viewing events.
