Po Lin Monastery (วัดโป่วหลิน) บนเกาะลันเตา 🏞️

🌿✨ If you have 4-6 hours to spare before your flight back to Hong Kong, I highly recommend not to miss Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island 🏞️. It's considered one of the most sacred and beautiful places in Hong Kong.

🚍 Getting there is easy! From the airport, take the bus to Citygate Outlets. From there, you can either take the Ngong Ping 360 cable car 🚡 for stunning views. Or, if you're looking to save money and don't want to wait in long lines, take the bus up the mountain. It's cheaper, but the downside is... you might get carsick easily 🤢. We tried both options and ended up preferring the bus, as it's more economical and saves you time.

🌸 A brief history of Po Lin Monastery — This temple was built in 1906 by three monks. It was originally a small temple on Lantau Hill, but it has since become one of the most famous Buddhist temples in Hong Kong. 🌏 It's highlighted by its peaceful atmosphere and stunning Chinese architecture. And, of course, we can't forget the... The Tian Tan Buddha 🙏 (or "Lantau Big Buddha"), located nearby, is one of the largest outdoor seated Buddha statues in the world. 🌟 Climbing the 268 steps to pay respects at the top is both tiring, satisfying, and incredibly fulfilling.

💡 If you're short on time, simply strolling around the temple grounds, enjoying a cup of tea and the view, or taking a photo with the Big Buddha is well worth it. A visit here isn't just about sightseeing, it's also about resting your mind amidst the mountains and nature. 🍃

🛕 For those flying home in the evening, we recommend spending 4-6 hours before your flight. You can enjoy shopping at Citygate Outlets 🛍️ and recharge at Po Lin Monastery 💖
