Ancient Style Afternoon Tea at Lion Rock

My favorite restaurant has recently launched a brand-new afternoon tea! Infused with Chinese cultural elements, the design is stunningly elegant. Just looking at the presentation evokes a sense of charm. On this day, I decided to enjoy a moment of tranquility with my lovely friend.

We visited Lion Rock, a restaurant that beautifully showcases ancient Chinese aesthetics. With Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, the entrance was adorned with vibrant red lanterns, and the floor featured lifelike fish projections, creating a visually captivating atmosphere.

The new tea set is named "Blue and White Porcelain Elegant Gathering Afternoon Tea." It features delicately crafted tea snacks displayed on a wooden tea stand, paired with two unique beverages that are both visually and tastefully refined.

**Osmanthus Green Tea Soda**: This fizzy green tea soda is infused with the refreshing aroma of osmanthus, creating a delightful and invigorating drink. The combination of the mild sweetness and floral fragrance makes it incredibly enjoyable.

**Orange and Dried Tangerine Peel Honey Drink**: A healthy choice, this drink combines the digestive benefits of dried tangerine peel with the sweetness of honey and the citrusy aroma of orange. It’s warm and comforting, a favorite among many women.

Next, we sampled four savory snacks, each crafted with sincerity and featuring seafood, pork, and chicken—perfectly suited to my taste.

**Crispy Scallops with Mango Sauce**: Tender scallops coated in breadcrumbs are fried to perfection, offering a crispy texture followed by a soft and smooth finish. Paired with potato salad and a fruity mango sauce, the dish is rich in layers.

**Braised Pork Rolls with Ginger Sauce**: Succulent pork belly wraps around radish and carrot strips, complemented by a ginger-infused sauce. The dish is flavorful, juicy, and aromatic.

**Spicy Chicken Bites in Sesame Cups**: Tender chicken pieces are seasoned with a spicy sesame sauce, creating a dish that’s irresistibly tasty. Combined with crispy shumai wrappers, the texture is even more delightful.

**Sweet and Sour Prawns with Fried Egg**: Resembling adorable deviled eggs, the fried egg exterior is golden and crispy, while the egg yolk salad is sweet and enticing. Topped with grilled, aromatic prawns, this dish leaves a lasting impression.

Moving on to desserts, the Vanilla Blueberry Mousse Cake is a showstopper, resembling blue and white porcelain and presented with a mystical smoky effect.

The cake’s exterior is crafted from Madagascar vanilla mousse, while the interior features smooth blueberry mousse and fluffy sponge cake. It’s sweet, delicious, and generously portioned, leaving you completely satisfied.

Additionally, there are three other desserts inspired by Chinese musical instruments, gardens, and ornaments, making them visually stunning.

**Matcha Pudding with Cherry Liqueur Jelly**: This dessert resembles a miniature fish pond, complete with chocolate stones and Swiss chard as aquatic plants. The highlight is the chocolate goldfish floating in cherry liqueur jelly—an exquisite creation. Not only is it visually appealing, but the flavors are also outstanding, with the smooth jelly and creamy pudding perfectly balanced and not overly sweet.

**Tofu Cheesecake**: Shaped like a jade gourd, this dessert exudes sophistication. Made with organic soy milk, it offers a subtle and refreshing bean aroma.

**Raspberry Milk Chocolate Mousse Cake**: The design evokes the imagery of "Wang Zhaojun Leaving the Frontier." The rich raspberry chocolate mousse is infused with fruity notes, making it a delightful treat for chocolate lovers.

The "Blue and White Porcelain Elegant Gathering Afternoon Tea" is priced at $568 for two people or $288 per person (plus a service charge). It is available daily from now until January 2, 2026, between 3 PM and 5 PM.
