Michelin One-Star Lunch with Abalone

Wow! It was rare to have a big group of friends gather for dinner in Sai Kung, but we ended up encountering Typhoon Signal No. 8. Luckily, we had planned to eat at 6 PM, so we finished dinner and got home safely before the signal was hoisted. For seafood in Sai Kung, my friends recommended Luk Fook Restaurant, which has been awarded a Michelin star for 16 consecutive years. The food was truly delicious 😋 and reasonably priced. That night, the cost per person was around $700, and the meal was very satisfying.
We started with a local Sai Kung fish soup. The creamy white soup was made with over ten types of fish, along with tomatoes and potatoes, resulting in an incredibly fresh and sweet flavor—just like the homemade soup my mom makes.
Since my friends enjoy beer, we ordered the crispy salt and pepper tofu, which was perfect. The outer layer was fragrant and crispy, while the inside was tender and smooth.
The salt and pepper baked fresh Dalian abalone was made with large Dalian abalones, which were delightfully chewy and satisfying.
My favorite dish was the steamed fish. The wild sea fish steamed with salt was made with garoupa, which was fresh and tender.
The steamed queen clams with garlic vermicelli were simply prepared with minimal seasoning, letting the freshness of the clams shine through.
The stir-fried razor clams with ginger and scallions paired with pan-fried rice noodles was a must-order. The highlight was the perfectly pan-fried rice noodles, and true foodies would also savor the ginger and scallions.
The spicy herbal wine-cooked sea snails were flavorful, with every piece infused with taste. If it were spicier, it would have been perfect for me, but we adjusted it to suit my friends.
My friends are carb lovers, so the soy sauce fried noodles were another standout dish. They were dry yet aromatic, cooked to perfection.
