The Hong Kong Railway Museum is located in the city center of Tai Po Market, covering an area of ​​6,500 square meters. It is an outdoor museum rebuilt on the site of the old Tai Po Market Railway Station. The old railway station building was built in 1913 and is a traditional Chinese building with a unique pyramid-shaped roof. The railway station was declared a monument in 1984 and after restoration and redecoration, the museum was opened to the public in 1985.
