A good place to learn about the historical development of Hong Kong railways

The Hong Kong Railway Museum in Tai Po was rebuilt from the old Tai Po Market Railway Station. As soon as you enter the entrance, you can see the distinctive Tai Po Market Railway Station (1913), with its unique traditional Chinese pyramid-shaped design. The indoor exhibition hall introduces the history of Hong Kong's railway transportation. The most eye-catching part, of course, is that the museum preserves old carriages, motorized engineering carriages, the first diesel locomotive, narrow-gauge steam locomotives, etc., which are no longer seen in Hong Kong today. You can check in as many times as you want in different carriages, but unfortunately the museum is not very large and you can basically complete the visit in half an hour.
Address: 13 Chong Tak Street, Tai Po
