High-quality Japanese Izakaya

Recently, I had dinner with friends at a popular Japanese izakaya located in Central. The restaurant's decor is primarily wood-themed, and the ingredients are freshly imported from Japan. They also offer a sake free-flow for 2 hours: $168 for men and $98 for women, perfect for a light buzz. 🍶

✨ Seared Bonito $128
This is a signature local dish from Kochi Prefecture, Japan, and I think it's a must-try! 🤣🤣‼️ The bonito skin is seared with high-temperature straw until half-cooked, then sliced and served with scallions, garlic, and soy sauce. The seared skin retains the rich oils, while the meat remains tender and juicy, offering a multi-layered flavor experience.

✨ 4-Kind Sashimi Platter $328
The platter includes yellowtail, bonito, swordfish, and golden eye snapper. All the sashimi is incredibly fresh and delicious‼️ I especially loved the golden eye snapper, a rare delicacy with a mild flavor and a refreshing, crisp texture.

✨ Kochi Roll $188
Highly recommended‼️ The sea urchin is incredibly creamy, melting in your mouth with a rich, sweet flavor that lingers. The salmon roe is plump and bursting with fish oil, while the minced toro is perfectly pink, fatty, and free of sinew—absolutely irresistible! 🤤

✨ Homemade Minced Chicken Skewer $68
Unlike the usual minced chicken skewers, this one is charred on both sides, retaining a tender yet slightly firm texture with rich layers of flavor. The orange egg yolk adds a comforting touch when mixed in.

✨ Black Truffle Tamagoyaki $28
The tamagoyaki is rich in egg flavor, incredibly soft and smooth, with a fluffy texture and a delightful truffle aroma.

✨ Grilled White Eel $88
Exceptionally plump! The skin is crispy and charred, while the meat is thick, firm, and springy.

✨ Cheese Mochi $32
Soft and chewy with a filling of gooey cheese and mashed potato—absolutely delicious! 🤤

✨ Grilled Japanese Yam with Cheese $38
Fresh and sweet yam with a slightly crisp texture, paired perfectly with the savory cheese.

✨ Kyoto Silken Tofu $32
The tofu is grilled to a crispy exterior while remaining tender inside, with a rich soy flavor complemented by a sweet sauce.
